Myofascial Release Technique
Myofascial Release is a soft tissue system that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. A few of the many conditions that can be solved with Myofascial Release Therapy are: headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow. These conditions all have one important thing in common- they often result from injury due to overuse and repetitive stress of muscles.
Overuse of muscles and other traumatized soft tissues can cause changes to your body in three important ways:
Each of the above changes causes your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the injured area. This scar tissue binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue builds up:
All the above can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain. Trapped nerves can result in tingling, numbness, burning sensations, weakness, shooting pains, muscle atrophy, and circulatory changes.

Overuse of muscles and other traumatized soft tissues can cause changes to your body in three important ways:
- Acute injuries (pulls, tears, collisions, etc.)
- Accumulate small tears (Micro-trauma)
- Reduce oxygen flow to cells (hypoxia)
Each of the above changes causes your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the injured area. This scar tissue binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue builds up:
- Muscles become shorter and weaker
- Tension on tendons causes tendonitis
- Nerves can become trapped
All the above can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain. Trapped nerves can result in tingling, numbness, burning sensations, weakness, shooting pains, muscle atrophy, and circulatory changes.
